BRISTOL, N.H. — In a visit to Bristol today, Congresswoman Maggie Goodlander highlighted $1 million in federal Community Project Funding she secured for the Tapply-Thompson Community Center’s proposed new community center, helping expand childcare, youth programming, and community services for families across the region. 

Goodlander visited the future site of the facility, touring the area alongside local leaders, educators, public safety officials and community partners. The visit came amid a series of meetings across the state last week with families, small businesses and local leaders.  

“For more than 75 years, the Tapply-Thompson Community Center has supported Granite Staters of all ages — our kids, teens, seniors, and families — from across our Newfound region,” said Congresswoman Goodlander. “I’m so grateful to Les Dion and Dan McClain for their leadership. The $1 million in federal funding I secured for TTCC will make a difference for New Hampshire families for generations to come because of the incredible people who support the extraordinary work of this very special community center every single day.”

The $1 million federal investment, secured through the U.S. Department of Agriculture Community Facilities Program, will support construction of a new community center facility designed to address longstanding space and safety limitations at the current site. The expanded facility will help reduce waiting lists, increase after-school and summer camp capacity, support new jobs, and improve access to programming for families across Bristol, Alexandria, Bridgewater, Danbury, Groton, Hebron, Hill, and New Hampton.

The Tapply-Thompson Community Center currently serves thousands of residents annually through youth recreation, after-school care, summer camp, senior programming, family support services, and community events.

Goodlander has consistently supported Community Project Funding as a way to return federal tax dollars directly to New Hampshire communities for high-priority local projects that might otherwise struggle to secure funding.
