Company that refused natural gas service will deploy portable LNG tank to fill the gap
CONCORD, N.H. — Liberty Utilities will deploy a portable liquified natural gas (LNG) supply to deliver service to Lakes Region customers it has left stranded – a reversal that follows mounting pressure and oversight from Congresswoman Maggie Goodlander (NH-02). The commitment comes in direct response to Goodlander’s June 11 oversight letter demanding answers and accountability for the company’s abrupt move to deny service to customers in more than half a dozen New Hampshire towns, including Franklin, Canterbury and Northfield.
“For months, communities across our Lakes Region have been left in limbo after being blindsided by Liberty Utilities,” said Congresswoman Goodlander. “The company is finally owning up to what its New Hampshire customers have known all along: relief cannot wait. While this is progress, it is not enough. We need a permanent solution and real accountability. I won’t stop working until we get both.”
In a written response to Goodlander, Liberty committed to deploying a portable liquified natural gas (LNG) tank to supplement system supply, with permanent infrastructure upgrades to be made.
