Hudson, N.H. — Yesterday, during Career and Technical Education Month, Representative Maggie Goodlander toured the Wilbur H. Palmer Career & Technical Education Center at Alvirne High School in Hudson and met with leadership and students to hear about their programming and discuss the importance of career and technical education for New Hampshire. During the visit, Goodlander also heard about the impact that proposed cuts to the Department of Education could have on schools in New Hampshire.
“It was inspiring to see firsthand how the remarkable students, teachers, and administrators of the Palmer Center at Alvirne High School are putting federal funding to one of its highest and best uses: educating the next generation of Granite Staters,” said Representative Goodlander. “I am proud to bring the voices of New Hampshire’s educators and students to Congress and will continue working to protect the federal funding that schools like Alvirne High School rely on across our state.”
The Palmer Center includes programs in Accounting; Air Force JROTC; Construction; Culinary Arts; Cyber Security; Digital Media; Engineering; Health Science; Heavy Duty Mechanics; Human Services; Marketing; Natural Resources; Veterinary Science; Welding & Fabrication; and more.
Representative Goodlander is a fierce defender of our education system and a strong advocate for the importance of public education. Before taking the oath of office to represent New Hampshire in the People’s House, she taught constitutional law at the University of New Hampshire and Dartmouth.
