**Goodlander sent these letters last week in response to the Trump Administration’s pause on some arms shipments to Ukraine**
Concord, N.H. – Congresswoman Maggie Goodlander, a member of the House Armed Services Committee and the House Democratic Caucus National Security Task Force, has joined a bipartisan, bicameral coalition that is demanding that the Trump Administration restore shipments of critical munitions and arms to Ukraine.
“Ukraine is in the fight for its life to defend its freedom and its democracy. A weakened Ukraine makes America less safe and the world even more dangerous. The United States should be doing what it has done for my entire lifetime: stand up to Russian aggression and forcefully work to end its unjust war of aggression against a free and sovereign nation. Instead, President Trump is standing with Russia,” said Congresswoman Goodlander. “The Trump Administration’s move to pause shipments of critical munitions and arms to Ukraine undermines our national security and goes against the very values of our nation. I believe deeply in the cause of freedom in Ukraine and will always stand up to Vladimir Putin’s aggression.”
Goodlander sent two letters to the Department of Defense calling on the Pentagon to restore shipments to Ukraine and demanding answers:
- On July 2, Goodlander sent a letter to Elbridge A. Colby, Undersecretary of Defense for Policy at the U.S. Department of Defense, underscoring the importance of defending Ukraine in combating Chinese aggression and demanding transparency. Read the letter here.
- On July 3, Goodlander sent a letter to Pete Hegseth, Secretary of Defense, outlining how the decision to halt shipments to Ukraine, reportedly to redirect them to other theaters, is a strategic mistake and demanding answers justifying the decision. Read the letter here.
Congresswoman Goodlander has dedicated her life to serving New Hampshire and our country. Before taking the oath to represent the Second District in the People’s House, she served as an intelligence officer in the United States Navy Reserve for over a decade. Goodlander began her career as an advisor to Senators John McCain and Joe Lieberman, both of whom served on the Senate Armed Services Committee. In Congress, she serves on the House Armed Services Committee, the bipartisan For Country Caucus, and as a member of the House Democratic Caucus National Security Task Force.
