New Hampshire Congresswoman Maggie Goodlander, Congressman Chris Pappas and Republican Congresswoman Jen Kiggins of Virginia, have introduced a bipartisan bill to ensure workers at public shipyards get paid during the government shutdown.

Goodlander said those workers are “mission critical” for national defense.

Pappas said the employees at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, and all public shipyards, work with skill and patriotism to support the military.
