Nashua, N.H. – Today, as students and families across New Hampshire prepare to head back to school, Congresswoman Maggie Goodlander hosted a roundtable in Nashua with advocates from MomsRising to discuss the cost crisis, how sky-high prices are hurting hardworking families across the state, and how Congress can be a partner to cutting expenses across the board.

“Today I had the chance to sit down over coffee with an extraordinary group of Granite State women. They came from towns across our district — from Sutton to Atkinson, from Peterborough to Pembroke, and from Hillsborough to Nashua. They’re all advocates with MomsRising,” said Congresswoman Goodlander. “I learned a lot from them about the many ways that Trumpflation is making their lives more expensive: from back-to-school supplies to life-saving healthcare for their kids. I’m so proud to be working for and alongside these amazing moms to tackle Trumpflation and make life affordable, safe, and free for people across our state.”

“As a mom, I know how stressful going back to school can be for families. You want to make sure your kids have everything they need to start the school year feeling confident, prepared, and capable. But, I am hearing from moms more than ever that even the basics are costing more because of Trumpflation – rising costs thanks to President Trump’s tariffs and Republican cuts to the very programs that lower costs for families on things like healthcare, child care, and food assistance. I’m grateful that New Hampshire moms have an advocate and a fierce ally in Congresswoman Maggie Goodlander to tackle these costs head-on and deliver for our kids,” said MacKenzie Nicholson, Senior Director of MomsRising NH.

“Families like mine across New Hampshire are feeling the pain and paying the prices for President Trump’s trade wars — and we are seeing it everywhere from the grocery store to our energy bills. I’m grateful that me and my family have an advocate in Congresswoman Goodlander who understands what we are up against and is fighting back,” said Julia, a mom from Atkinson, N.H.

“More and more, it feels like the government doesn’t understand what real people and families are dealing with — but Maggie Goodlander gets it, and I’m proud to have her fighting for me and my family in Congress,” said Mandy, a mom from Peterborough, N.H.

Congresswoman Goodlander has dedicated her life to fighting for the people of New Hampshire. She helped introduce the Child Care for Working Families Act, comprehensive legislation to ensure families across America can find and afford the high-quality child care they need. Goodlander also helped launch the Lowering Costs Caucus, a group of members dedicated to tackling the cost crisis that is standing between hardworking people and the American Dream.
