Washington, D.C. – Today, Congresswoman Maggie Goodlander released the following statement:
“I came to Congress to work for the people of New Hampshire, and the partisan legislation that House Republicans brought to the floor today is bad for New Hampshire.
“I voted against it because it fails to protect Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid at a moment when the Trump Administration has put all three on the chopping block. This bill also fails to fund critical community-led investments that would support our firefighters, our veterans, New Hampshire farmers, small businesses, students, and basic infrastructure that is urgently needed in cities and towns across our state. It would slash billions from law enforcement and empower Elon Musk to continue his lawless attacks on the federal programs and workers that hardworking Granite Staters rely on every single day.
“I will work with anyone who will work with me to pass a budget that supports New Hampshire and cuts down on waste, fraud, and abuse, but Granite Staters deserve better than the resolution Republicans brought to the Floor today, and I urge all of my colleagues in Congress to get to work on the bipartisan budget that the American people deserve.”
Congresswoman Goodlander has dedicated her life to serving New Hampshire and our country. She has served in all three branches of our government, working to ensure a fair deal for all Granite Staters.
