Goodlander To Serve on House Armed Services Committee and House Committee on Small Business

Washington, D.C. – Today, Representative Maggie Goodlander announced she will serve on the House Armed Services Committee and the House Committee on Small Business in the 119th Congress.

“New Hampshire is home to more than 1,200 active-duty service members and more than 5,680 National Guard and reserve members. The brave men and women who serve in our nation’s armed forces represent the best of America. Bringing their voices to Congress is a sacred duty,” said Representative Goodlander. “Our national defense is not a Republican or a Democratic issue it is an American issue, and I look forward to working across the aisle with my colleagues on the Armed Services Committee to support our nation’s armed forces, strengthen our national defense and deliver for our American military personnel, at home and abroad.”

Representative Goodlander continued, “New Hampshire has more than 136,500 small businesses and more than 305,700 small business employees. Small businesses are the backbone of our economy and make up nearly 99% of all businesses in New Hampshire. I’m ready to give the businesses that keep our state moving a seat at the table as a member of the Small Business Committee. I look forward to working with anyone – Republican or Democrat – who will work with me to build a more resilient, business-friendly future where everyone can thrive.”

Representative Goodlander has dedicated her life to serving New Hampshire and our country. Before taking the oath to represent the Second District in the People’s House, she served as an intelligence officer in the United States Navy Reserve for over a decade. Goodlander began her career as an advisor to Senators John McCain and Joe Lieberman, both of whom served on the Senate Armed Services Committee. She also served as a Deputy Assistant Attorney General in the Justice Department, where she took on the corporate monopolies hurting New Hampshire’s small businesses and held them accountable for jacking up prices and making life harder for hardworking Granite Staters.
