Washington, D.C. – Today, Congresswoman Maggie Goodlander helped pass bipartisan legislation to require the United States Postal Service (USPS) to designate an individual ZIP code for Swanzey, New Hampshire, sending the bill to the Senate. Even though North Swanzey is a fully incorporated part of the town of Swanzey, it shares its ZIP code with Keene, causing confusion for emergency services, delays in mail, and more. Senators Shaheen and Hassan led this effort in the Senate.
“It’s past time that the residents of Swanzey, New Hampshire, had their own zip code to simplify mail delivery, streamline response times for EMS, and cut down on needless confusion,” said Congresswoman Goodlander. “I was proud to help pass this commonsense legislation out of the House of Representatives and deliver for the people of Swanzey.”
