Washington, D.C. – Today, Congresswoman Maggie Goodlander joined with a bipartisan coalition of her colleagues to pass H.J.Res.72, paving the way to end President Trump’s senseless, costly, and dangerous trade wars.
“Tonight, the People’s House did right by the American people in voting on a bipartisan basis to end President Trump’s costly, corrupt, and unconstitutional trade war against Canada,” said Congresswoman Goodlander. “Hardworking Granite Staters are paying the high price of these reckless tariffs, and I won’t quit in the fight to lower your costs.”
Goodlander, a former clerk to U.S. Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer and Deputy Assistant Attorney General at the U.S. Department of Justice, is a member of the U.S. House Rapid Response and Litigation Task Force. She has been a fierce advocate against President Trump’s unlawful trade wars. She has helped lead three legal briefs challenging costly and unlawful tariffs unilaterally and unlawfully imposed by the Trump Administration, including in front of the United States Supreme Court.
