ICYMI: During National Health Center Week, Goodlander Brings Together Roundtable with Providers, Discusses Impact of GOP Cuts to Medicaid

Plymouth, N.H. – In case you missed it, on Wednesday, August 6, Congresswoman Maggie Goodlander visited Mid-State Health Center, a Federally Qualified Health Center, met with providers and patients, heard about their operations, discussed the impact of GOP cuts to Medicaid in the Big, Brutal Budget, and toured the facility. Bi-State Primary Care Association and Harbor Care were also part of the conversation and visit.

“There are two words N.H. healthcare providers use to describe the GOP’s Big, Brutal Budget: ‘devastating’ and ‘catastrophic.’ That’s what I heard again in Plymouth during an impactful conversation this week at Mid-State Health Center with Bi-State Primary Care Association and Harbor Care,” said Congresswoman Goodlander. “I will not rest in my work for and alongside New Hampshire’s extraordinary community health centers to deliver better care to and lower costs for hardworking people.”

“We’re honored to welcome Congresswoman Goodlander to Mid-State Health Center. Her support for community health centers is deeply appreciated and vital to ensuring access to high-quality, affordable care in rural areas like ours. Continued investment in community-based health care helps strengthen our workforce, expand essential services, and improve health outcomes for the people we serve every day,” said Robert MacLeod, DHA | Chief Executive Officer of Mid-State Health Center.

Congresswoman Goodlander has dedicated her life to fighting for a fair deal, including building a tax system that delivers tax breaks for working families, not handouts to billionaires and big corporations. She was a hard no on the GOP’s Big, Brutal Budget, and testified in front of the House Rules Committee in opposition to the biggest cuts to healthcare in American history and in support of four amendments she offered to the legislation. Since taking the oath of office, she has met with health care workers and patients from across New Hampshire and heard firsthand about how this legislation will harm real people.
