Washington, D.C. – Today, Representative Maggie Goodlander, a Member of the House Small Business Committee, highlighted the critical impact that Small Business Administration (SBA) loans and supported loans have on New Hampshire small businesses. Goodlander also underscored the uncertainty and threat these programs and SBA employees are facing due to the Trump Administration’s proposed federal funding freeze and executive actions.
“Our team is getting a lot of really unsettling reports about Small Business Administration staff in New Hampshire who have received termination notices and who aren’t sure about their fate thanks to the actions of the Trump Administration,” said Representative Goodlander. “Small businesses across our state – from hairstylists to plumbers – rely on SBA staff, loans, and programs to help support them and their operations. We must protect critical services to help people achieve the American dream.”
Representative Goodlander has been an outspoken advocate against President Trump’s proposed federal funding freeze that would have devastating impacts on Granite Staters. Before taking the oath of office to represent New Hampshire in the People’s House, she served as a Deputy Assistant Attorney General in the Justice Department where she took on the corporate monopolies hurting New Hampshire’s small businesses and held them accountable for jacking up prices and making life harder for hardworking Granite Staters.
